Improve access to training and work opportunities, and support Business Development

Rural Employability
The Partnership  secured a grant through NCC to lead a Rural Employability project.  The project was overseen by Lymemouth Development Trust and carried out in partnership with Haltwistle Community Partnership.   North Tyne and Redesdale Community Partnership acted as an employability hub, offering  a brokerage service for information, advice and guidance about jobs, self –employment, business start up and training which meets
priority one.  The aim of this project is to:-
•    Secure work for unemployed and under employed people in rural areas
•    Help people into self-employment
•    Improve the skills of people in rural areas.

All Parish Councils have been consulted and local businesses and business forums have been approached to use the service.  A wider management group has been established to
share information and support clients through all aspects of employment needs.

Referrals between the NBSL for people considering self-employment and Job Centre +, for those looking for employment and the Partnership help to ensure that clients get the best possible service.
