Encourage and support projects that expand provision for the elderly
 Lead Trustee: None assigned

There are crossovers with this objective and others of the Partnership.  The map reference cards will benefit this group, as will some of the proposed work for isolated areas.  The Partnership reviewed this objective in May, 2010.

Tarset Social Club

The Partnership established this in partnership with Tarset Village Hall committee.  This is a very relaxed coffee morning that is open to all.  It is held on the first Wednesday of every month at 11am.  Membership is £1 and you get as much tea and coffee as you like, as well as home made cakes.

 Over Fifties Club, Bellingham

This lunch club has been going for many years.  It is run in association with Bellingham Community Middle School, who provide the lunches and the room for activities.  The lunch club is held every week during term time.  Transport is provided by local volunteers for those who need it.  The members also go on trips, organised through the partnership and participate in activities.  It provides another avenue for regular, social contact.  The Club meets at the school and runs from 12pm - 2pm during term time.

Future plans
When this objective was reviewed, the trustees identified several ways that the Partnership could gather more information, so that their work was appropriate to the needs of local communities.  This research will identify gaps in provision and where needed, either assist local organisations to fill those gaps or identify ones that can.
